Expertise:
Fuel Cells; Electrolysers; Modeling and Simulation; Electrochemical energy conversion devices and systems
Research interests:
Low-temperature fuel cells (PEMFC & AEMFC) & electrolysers (PEMWE); Pore-scale modeling; Porous material characterization; Multiscale CFD simulation; System modeling; Modeling MEA fabrication processes
Research description:
Our research focusses on (i) the use of advanced microscopy to characterize and perform pre-scale simulation on porous electrode materials, and (ii) the fabrication of electrode materials, e.g., catalyst layers, microporous layers, and gas diffusion layer/porous transport layer for PEM fuel cells and electrolyzers
Main equipment and infrastructure:
High performance computer codes for pore-scale simulation (PSM, LBM)
Access to advanced microscopy : STEHM, FIB/SEM
Access to MEA fabrication apparatus: dispersion devices (ball-mill, sonicator), spray coater, rheometer
