Research description:

The research in Laboratory of Electrochemical Engineering (LEE) focuses on the rational design of efficient, nano-structured catalysts for (i) fuel cells, water electrolysis and value-added electrochemical transformation of glycerol and carbon dioxide. (ii) electrochemical promotion of heterogeneous catalysts (EPOC/NEMCA) for CO2 hydrogenation. (iii) All solid-state Li-ion batteries.

Current funded research projects:

– NSERC Discovery: EPOC for CO2RR and water electrolysis (end: 2024)

– NRC-MFC: CO2 electroreduction (end: 2023)

– MITACS: Catalysts for greenhouse gas mitigation (end: 2023),

– Other projects and research contracts related to catalysis, Li-ion batteries and electrolysis

Main equipment and infrastructure:

-Electrochemistry: Potentiostats, RRDE, EIS & Electrolysers

-Gas phase heterogeneous catalytic test stations
